Jack Of All Trades
Hey, I’m Ru! I’m a trans-masc skier, snowboarder, sailor and writer, and I’m on a mission to have as much fun as a person can possibly have in a lifetime…
I’ve been incredibly fortunate with the opportunities that have been presented to me through my life so far. That, combined with an inability to say no to anything that sounds even mildly interesting or different, has seen me try a multitude of jobs/careers and develop skills and gain knowledge I never would have otherwise.
Construction, theme parks, funeral care, events, scuba diving, sword fighting, tour guiding. They say a jack of all trades is a master of none, and maybe that’s true. But I think for me, the wealth of these experiences have created a value of life that is incomparable to anything else I could have perfected.
There are lots of things I dreamt about doing when I was a child, and it’s crazy to think that those things are within reach.
So please, take a look round, find out more about my story, and feel free to join me for the journey!

Sailing was the fist adventure sport Ruaridh ever explored. Moving up through the RYA schemes as a child, then teen, then young adult, he gained his Sailing Instructor Certificate and taught with Hillingdon Outdoor Activities Centre for 7 years.
He is now working towards his RYA Yachtmaster Ocean, with the hope to achieve it before he turns 30.
Please feel free to get in touch via the contact page for information about Ruaridh’s skills and qualifications. He is always on the lookout for new experiences and opportunities to crew and race.

Perhaps slightly out of alignment with everything else, Ruaridh has been writing privately since he was a teenager. Some of his works have recently been submitted to a variety of journals for review (and hopefully publishing) but the rest can be found in the Poets Notebook section of this website.
You can also read about his snowsports and sailing adventures, as well as his transition in the Captains Log.
